Install a screen

Three steps from a fresh Pi to a running slideshow. Everything here stays in your browser.

Step 1 of 3

Install pi-display

SSH into the Pi and run these two commands. New Pi? Flash Raspberry Pi OS Lite with SSH turned on first.

Terminal on the Pi
curl -fsSLo pi-display "https://github.com/maks112v/pi-display/releases/latest/download/pi-display-$(dpkg --print-architecture)"
chmod +x pi-display

What these do

  • curl -fsSLo pi-displayDownloads the latest release from GitHub and saves it as a file named pi-display.
  • $(dpkg --print-arch…)Asks the Pi whether it runs 64-bit (arm64) or 32-bit (armhf), so you get the matching build.
  • chmod +x pi-displayMarks the file as a program so the Pi is allowed to run it.
